The basic components: each week an email is sent to find out who would like to play, and which days and times players are available. On Sunday afternoon or evening, players are matched up based on availability and level of play. Also, hopefully, the opponent will not have played against this player for at least a month. There are multiple levels: men's "A", and "B"; women's "A" and "B".
As with all West View leagues, there is only a week to week commitment. Simply reply each week whether you are or not available. If you go on vacation or are injured for 2 weeks, no penalty whatsoever. Just pick up where you left off.

Because West View Tennis Center is not a membership-only club, the following policies will be in place:
1) There will be an administrative league fee of $15 per player. I don't like to do this, but there are too many players who sign up for the ladder league, then never respond nor play. This puts a bit of "financial skin in the game". This fee must be paid when you play for the first time or by December 1, 2013 - whichever comes first.
2) If you don't play for a month, you drop 3 positions on the ladder. If you don't play for 2 months, you drop to the bottom of the ladder ... we don't want someone at the top of the ladder to stay there by not playing.
3) If you have to cancel your match, you can do so up to 24 hours before the match. If a match is cancelled less than 24 hours before the match is scheduled, the person responsible must pay 50% of his or her fee ($9 or $11 + tax). We set up the match in good faith based on your email reply so shouldn't be responsible for losing the entirety of the court time.
4) Finally, if you don't call or show up for a match, you are responsible for the cost of the court ($36 or $44 + tax).
